While Canada may not offer tropical, warm landscapes like we do in the States, they do offer something quite magical. One of their undeniable talents is the long list of incredible Canadian winter travel destinations. Here are our top three:
- Nunavik, Quebec
The allure of Nunavik has everything to do with the Inuit Snow Festival. Every two years, Inuit people from all over come together to celebrate all things cold and snowy. The cool thing is that everyone is invited (for a mere $35 ticket). Snow sculptures, competitions, and games go on for a solid week.
- Jasper, Alberta
Forget the beach. Because there’s nothing quite like grabbing your snowboard and carving some serious powder. One of the best places to do that is Jasper – a beautiful mountain town located in the Canadian Rockies. Not only are there great skiing opportunities, the surrounding area is bustling with wildlife too.
- Kitchener, Ontario
For those devoid of the coordination and talent necessary for skiing, there is always flying down a 250-foot high, 900-foot long snow chute on a tube. That’s what the Chicopee Tube Park in Kitchener is all about.
Of course, if you’re traveling in the winter, you’ll definitely want to make sure you have the right vehicle to get around. Canada, oh Canada – helping the world overcome cabin fever, for a really long time.
