Electric cars are becoming increasingly popular in the automotive industry and automakers are quickly realizing they will soon find themselves left behind if they don’t have plans to introduce electric iterations of their vehicles in the near future. As an innovator in the auto world, Honda introduced the upcoming 2019 Honda Insight at the Vancouver International Auto Show.
The Insight is the latest green vehicle to be introduced to Honda’s lineup, along with the Clarity Plug-in Hybrid and the Accord Hybrid. Without sacrificing any power, the Insight delivers some of the best fuel efficiency in the industry. Its 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle engine can produce a new power rating of 151 horsepower and 197 lb-ft of torque.
The newly unveiled electric vehicle also features some of Honda’s most advanced technologies. Driver and passengers can enjoy sublime audio through the standard eight-speaker system by connecting to their favorite music apps via the 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth®. As for safety, the Insight includes features from the Honda Sensing® suite, like Lane Departure Warning and the Collision Mitigation Braking System™.
“The Honda Insight shows consumers that the efficiency of a hybrid car doesn’t mean sacrificing style, refinement or performance,” said Jean Marc Leclerc, Senior Vice President of Honda Canada Inc. “The Insight is another symbol of a new era in the evolution of Honda electrified vehicles, where customers can have everything they want with no compromises.”
The 2019 Honda Insight is set to arrive on dealer lots later this summer and we are eagerly awaiting its arrival here at St. Albert Honda.
