The new 2017 Civic Type R is making a splash, offering impressive performance and a sleek new design. The Civic has made various appearances at auto shows around the world and the latest Type R will be at the New York International Auto Show in early April. This is one exciting new ride!
According to Honda, the new Honda Civic Type R will come with a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and a tuned chassis, a powertrain that was recently tested at the Nürburgring track in Germany. The new i-VTEC engine has up to 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, and, when paired with a six-speed transmission, this model has truly impressive acceleration.
“The 2017 Civic Type R is designed to reward the driver in all driving conditions, on the track and on the street, and features three driving modes: Comfort, Sport (default) and +R,” reads a release from Honda Canada. “The driver selectable modes adjust steering and throttle response, transmission rev-matching, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and the Adaptive Damper System.”
Other great features include things like a dual-axis suspension, an Adaptive Suspension System technology, and three-chamber dampers. You can also find 20-inch alloy wheels, Brembo braking, and more. There’s nothing quite like the new Civic Type R. As soon as the new Civic hits the market, stop by St. Albert Honda to learn more.
